P: we know of children in our community who do not live in safety.
L: We know of adults in our community who do not live with dignity.
P: We know that within Sugarcreek, there is poverty, there is abuse, there is fear and deep sorrow.
L: Your picture of peace plays at the periphery of our vision,
P: but it is hard for us to bring it into focus.
L: Your words of promise echo faintly in our ears,
P: but it is hard for us to hear them clearly.
L: We know that you call us to your work of peace right here with our neighbors,
P: but our feet feel heavy; our hands are hesitant.

*Sue Stauffer: Nancy Yoder much better on Friday than Thursday. Praise for continued healing.
*Julie Gerber: Praise for MC-USA Mission month, MCC, MDS, MMN and other missions. Praise that we can spread love and peace throughout the world.
*Jim Armstrong: Praise for the service of our armed forces as some are active and some are inactive on this Veteran’s Day.

*Sue Stauffer: Prayers for all of the people who are experiencing the first holidays without their loved ones, Mike Miller, and Dianne Whittis.
*Sue Stauffer: Prayers for Ted Stone, Ted used to be a security guard at the library in New Philadelphia. He has moved to Hennis nursing home.
*Julie Gerber: Prayers for all of those involved with the fires in California. May they be safe.
*Wayne Schrock: Prayers for Dorothy as she continues with her health decisions and for what lies ahead.
*Marilyn Hartline: Marilyn’s best friend from college has a son that has Duchene’s disease he is 31 years old and is now in Hospice.
*Bruce Stauffer: The organist from the Fiat Church is in the hospital in the ICU unit. Prayers needed for Caroline.
*MMN: Mary Raber, serving with Mennonite Mission Network, is seeking temporary residence status in Ukraine. Pray for patience with the bureaucratic process and that God will open the way for a document that gives her greater freedom for ministry.
*Prayers for Faith and Learning-Bethany Christian School: Pray that the cast of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Goose will be granted health and the ability to perform their best after many weeks of practice.

FMC LIVES IN DISCIPLESHIP TOGETHER_______
*Next Week’s Texts: Psalm 100; I Thessalonians 5:16-18
*Harbor of Hope: 54 cans of fruits & vegetables, and 13 misc. items delivered on Wednesday by Gene Miller. Thank you for your contributions.
This month’s items are Spaghetti Sauce and Pasta. They are due on December 19th.
*Community Thanksgiving Service: Is tonight at the UCC Church on the hill. Starting at 7:00 p.m. What a joy to have our community join together to thank God for all of His Blessings.
*Deacon’s Fund & Kitchen Fund: We will be collecting monies for these two funds. Basket are at the back of the sanctuary or you can put your donation in the offering plate. Just make out your check to First Mennonite Church and then earmark it for either fund, Deacon’s or Kitchen or both. Thank you for your generosity.
*November Mission Projects: This month we will be collecting Mittens, Hats, Scarves, and Gloves for Share-A-Christmas on our Mitten Tree. Also we will be collecting Canned Fruits and Veggies for Harbor of Hope.
*Greeters for 2019: There is a sign-up sheet on the table by the mailboxes for the year 2019. Greeters are the first people that visitors see when they come in the church, so they are a very important group of volunteers!
*Give a kit for Christmas!: From hurricanes and flooding to conflict and drought, MCC is responding to many disasters around the world. This Christmas, why not gather your family and pack a relief kit as a gift to other families whose lives have been disrupted by war or disaster? For more information about relief kit contents and how you can get involved, visit mcc.org/kits/relief
*Cookie Walk: The Bars Mills Church of God is having a cookie walk on Saturday, December 8th starting a 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The cost is $7.00 per pound they provide the boxes. In addition to cookies they will also provide candy and treats. Check out the bulletin board for the poster.
